2nd gen 3rd Row Seat Dilemma

I'm thinking of picking up a 3rd row seat for my 2nd gen. For $355 I can get the seat which comes with 2 head rests, 2 shoulder seatbelts, and one over the lap seatbelt. I'm thinking of this because I now have a child and want to go in one car with family and friends when we go out. Not sure about to much comfort though with getting in and out, plus sitting. Just seems like a good idea, though. The seat can easily come out when not needed so I don't lose the rear space when needed.

Please give me your opionions, thoughts, etc. Thanks!

I got this image below off of LittlePassengerSeats.com

Dont know if I would do that and put kids back there. What happens if you get in a wreck and the vehicle catches fire? Wont really be able to get the rear passengers out too quickly due to the way the rear door works.

Trust me - when there is a fire NOTHING will stop you.

I would't worry about this unlikely scenario.

Where did you find the seat for that price. I have been looking & they seam really expensive, $700 on up. I was going to go to the wrecker. Look at my other thread about the 3rd row seat.

Not many MVAs result in vehicle fires, particulerly in the rear of the vehicle.

Thank you for the feedback. I actually found the seat on ebay. The seller and I worked out a price with shipping. If your still interested, shoot her an email (2nd gen 3rd row seat on EBAY). I decided not to take her up on her offer. My wife destroyed a rim on her car and I have to replace it. Besides, I tried it out and found out that there really isn't any room for an adult. Just not in my best interest after all.

Take a look at the older (90's) Mercury Tracer and Ford Escort station wagons. The backs seats in them look like they would be a perfect fit. Could prob be had for really cheap at a junk yard too.
