22RE water pump replacement - advice?
My father-in-laws's 94 P/U (used to be my truck til' I gave it to him last month) has a squealing/grinding noise coming from the vicinity of the water pump pulley. I also noticed what looks like crystalized coolant on the water pump housing. Am I right in assuming that the water pump is on the verge of failure? If so, is it difficult to replace. My Hayes manual makes it seem fairly simple.
Does anyone have any advice/wisdom that they can impart??
Thanks in advance!

it's not very hard to replace. just drain the coolant, remove the fan shroud, loosen the alternator belt and unbolt the fan pulley.
run a thin bead of gray RTV on the gasket when you install the new pump, and all should be good.
