22RE runs hot

1995 4x4 pickup 22re has started running hot. Enormous amount "steam" coming fron the exhaust. Any ideas? Could it be head gasket or intake gasket?

Well could be head gasket, intake gasket, or timming chain that broke thru water pump housing. Give us some more info. Does it steam all of the time? Does the exhaust smell like burning antifreeze? Does your engine oil look like a milkshake? Do you see black brown specks floating in the coolent? Have you done a compression test on the Cyl's or a leak down test on the cooling system? Let us know.

does not steam all the time... oil looks fine, but water gunk under oil cap( not sure if it is condensation).... fill radiator and crank engine ad water level is down conciderably in a few minutes with no visible leak.... no compression check yet... no radiator check

exactly how mine started to go bad. oil cap cream=new head gasket needed
compression check was negative. radiator leak test was positive.
