22re rebuild

I am looking at rebuilding the 22re in my 4runner and was wondering what you recommend replacing while at it. I am looking at doing the enginebldr.com kit with pistons, rings, brass plugs, bearings and timing chains.

What other items should I look at getting while I am building?

Would it be worth it just to get a reman. unit from one of the many engine places or pay someone else to build it?

I have the skills to build it but need it to be reliable.

I want to thank all of you for your input.

the machining will cost the most out of it all. if you DIY you will need a few basic
tools and the FSM a Chilton can also help.
we used the piston rings from engbldr and they are a really nice product my buddy did snap one but he had one new one from his other kit he had.
