this is a really old post, but i have joined a few new forums for the purpose of learning more about a propane conversion. i have done some research and the swap seems to be pretty simple. even talking to the smog referee here in CA, everything seems to be ok as far as street legality. i am very familiar with the gotpropane.com website, and am sure that with the kit comes detailed instructions. the only thing that is missing, which i am sure a lot of people like to have before a build, is some pictures of the kit installed/being installed. a visual of what i am doing really helps me out a lot. so if any one has any pics, that would be awesome. i have one, that i found on the internet, and i will post it up because i am sure there are more people that would be willing to do this swap if they had more info. thanks for any help in advance!

Eh, it can be cheaper than gas but at the same time you'll use quite a bit of it. It's a higher octane, burns cleaner and probably has less emissions (though that's never a concern for me because I don't care)

As part of your research, you might want to check out the tax implication of using propane. I'm finding lots of cases of people getting fine from the state and fed. tax board for road tax. In addition, there may be other permissions and licenses that you need to carry.

the thing i dont get about the gotpropane conversion is that they say for fuel injected engines u need an old carb distributor and igniter. Why cant you put the mixer inline with the afm, put a shut off on your fuel pump and call her a big day.

Isn't propane a by product of oil?
I think as gas prices rise that propane will rise behind it. It sure would be nice for a low cost alternative to gasoline though...

Bump for an old thread. Beware as this is our kit and is pictured on a competitor's website as theirs. It is not! We also don't use forklift parts in our kits.Thank you to all who have ran one of our kits and I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving!
