22RE issues
I have a couple of issues with the 4runner I picked up. It is a 1989 4 cyl automatic. i have searched for vaccuum leaks but then it started to rain so did not get a chance to start looking any further There is a recipet for a new 02 sensor in the past year, and a new TPS. The motor is a jasper rebuilt with about 16k miles on it now
1 thing that concerns me is I am getting only about 200 miles per tank of gas with 225/75/r15 tires, others I have talked to with larger tires are getting around 300 to 350 miles per tank of gas.
My other problem I am not sure if it is related or not is if I hold the motor at about 1200 to 1500 rpm and just hold it steady the motor will just bog down every 10 seconds or so. With out changing the throttle position it will rev right back to where it was.
From reading past post by this previous owner he noticed a drop in gas milage since the jasper motor was installed, (about 16k miles ago) I also noticed from before the motor to after the motor change the hc and nox has risen a good amount on emmissions reports.
Thanks
Paul

AFM = Air Flow Meter
That is what an AFM is... an OEM one cost $600+ from the dealer, so go aftermarket
and as waskillywabbit said, shop around and you might find one w/ a lifetime warranty...

I'm gonna try the adjustments mentioned here first before looking at a new AFM.
