i mean its cool that you log your gas milage and everything but you don't have to be all smug about it
...since I'm wasting more than about 2 mins each time I fill up putting the info in. That's if you can call it wasted, I don't think time spent getting accurate data about my truck's efficiency is wasted. I use it not only to check my mileage, but to track tire wear, oil change intervals, and gas prices in my area, among other things. I'm sorry that me not trusting everyone's raw data without anything to show how they arrived at those numbers is being smug. I posted my log as an example for anyone who would like to keep better record of their mileage so they can truly tell if there is something that is keeping them from operating at peak efficiency....if you don't recognize that there is a problem you have know idea that it needs repair.

I got it! That is a very valuable sheet. Thanks so much! Imessed with it a little and so far I am getting 8-11.8 mpg. Great!

I do the same thing bob, except it is in a little black book in my glove box...I worked out the offset for mine and rounded to 2 decimal places, acurate enough. I also keep track of all maintenence in there...It's helped me detect needed repairs way before the engine light comes on...If i start seeing consistent significant changes in mileage, its time to start checking things.

Nicely done, on the excel sheet, i'd never remember to put it in, so i keep it in the truck, so it hasn't missed a single entry in 3 years.

If we all have so little time to waste, why are you wasting our precious time with your idiot babble?

Bob has just as much a right to be smug as you have to be a jerk. At least his post had good information in it.

Thanks for your contribution!

22re 5spd 31's 4.88's new engine with engnbldr 268 cam i just got 19.5 driving at about 65 on the highway.

I think with 33's I may actually get better mileage since it is revving like 3000 the whole time...

I average between 16 and 19mpg. 30x9.5x15 A/T's w/ stock gears. I haul a lot and tow a lot...plus, I live in the hills. I calculate my mileage everytime I fill up, but I don't keep a log per se.

I'm with AxleIke-since I bought my truck, I have kept track of every fillup and all maintenance in a little book in the glovebox. How do you do the conversion for changes in tire size? I run 235 75 15's and typically get between 14.5 (winter warming up) and 21 (summer), but have gotten 24 on the highway. (all #s are not adjusted to tire size).
