They're copper washers. They usually come with the fuel filter. As for the cold start valve, maybe take the bolt down and match it up.

just done some more searching and yes they are crush washers, also abe, i just rebuild this thing it has fresh oil.

Okies. I'm tired so... don't remember if they were crush or not, but they are copper, and didn't put 2 & 2 together and realize you did the oil change. What weight did you use?

Did the valve adjustment solve your problem? Mine was loud also set at 7 and 11 sounds like a new sewing machine now.Good luck I'm an old diesel mech too.I hate these new engines but wait til next year they're gonna get worse!!
