22re acting really weird with power surge

i have a 87 yota wheeler and it has a 22re i went out for a drive through the trails ran good didnt rev it out that hard. shut it off then it wouldnt start finally after cranking it for a bit it fired up but ran really rough with low power and shifty idle. i got home and shut it off i hear a clicking coming from the engine only when ignitions on. it sounds like its coming from the spark plugs i pulled a plug wire and it shocked me so i took the distributor cap off and turned the ignition back on and it stoped clicking. i replaced the distributor cap and it started doing it again, i have no idea what the heck is going on

not that i know of if it did could that really cause the spark plugs to have power going through them if the trucks not running and i unplugged the coil wire out of the distributor and it was sparking power when i turned the ignition on

New here so im sorry if im posting in the wrong area. Recently got a 91 toyota pickup dlx 155000 miles for 1000 bucks. Was driving it for about 3 months until one day it over heated and a hose blew off. So i replaced the hose and did a full system flush with the radiator. Next day i was ready to go to work and was backing down my hill when it shut off, no hesitation just shut off. Had it parked for 2 days, got a fine for parking against traffic then my father in law towed me back to my house. Went to start and it wouldnt start. It would crank but not turn over. got some codes and got starter signal issue and knock sensor. So i got a new coil and ignition coil, and new knock sensor and still wouldnt start. So i pulled the valve cover off and low and behold my distributor rod was pulled out so the gears werent contacting eachother. got a new distributor and it started right up. But now i have an issue of a surging idle... Got the codes 31 and 24. Cant seem to figure it out. Can anyone help

Do you think i should clean the Throttle body just to be safe also? I dont really know much about vehicles ( I am a General Contractor ) but i do know a little bit. The hose connected to the MAF is split. I dont know if that could be the problem, But when i spray carb cleaner to see if there is any vacuum leaks i get nothing so I might just replace the Hose and get a new MAF sensor. Thanks for the advice its much appreciated.

Well if you're already gonna take the throttle body off then you may as well clean it while your at it, as far as the codes go if I'm not mistaken 31 is vacuum sensor and 24 is intake air temp sensor.
I do know that if the hose is cracked it could drastically affect performance, 22re and the 3vze are very touchy about the MAFs, they really MUST have proper intake vacuum.
Code 31 either means that the wires to the sensor are bad and there's a short somewhere, or the sensor itself went out, or you don't have proper vacuum pressure. I'm leaning more towards vacuum pressure...
I would fix the crack, see what it does and if that still doesn't work just do process of elimination and see if you can find the problem.
And as far as the intake air temp sensor, it won't affect it very much, the intake air temp sensor on my 3vze has been out since I bought it and I haven't had any problems.
Hope this helps.
