My 87 pickup with 22r is leaking oil around the passenger side back towards the firewall. I've decreased it several times and can't quite tell where its coming from it almost looks like head gasket but the truck doesn't over heat or anything. What is constant is there is always oil on the egr bolts and I noticed oil on one of the intake manifold bolts tonight. I will get pictures in the morning. It's not the half moon on the valve cover that is completely clean is there a oil passage way back there that could have blown the head gasket or?????

I had oil leaking out of the egr bolt itself. Top right bolt. Oil works Along the thread in that one and comes out. I have a egr block plate but I pulled it off and use a thin layer of silicone copper and torqued it back down. No more leak. It actually leaked allot of oil from that bolt. It would run down one of the head bolts and bell housing to the under side of the bell.

 

That sounds almost exactly like what's going on I might give that a shot
