22R Front Seal replacement

22R Front Seal replacement
Is there a sticky or thread giving a detailed procedure with pictures for changing the front seal on a 22r? I searched and find info about front seals but did not see one.
I have started leaking more oil and it seems to be coming from the front seal.
Tfe fsm say I need to remove the oil pan. Do I also need to remove the oil pump?
Anyone that has had to do this I would like to hear from you.

Biggest thing I noticed when I did mine, go to a bearing shop, or machine shop and order a legitimate SPEEDI-Sleeve. the Fel-Pro ones get mashed so easily during installation.

front seal
you can also loosen the pulley bolt by putting a cheater bar on a ratchet under the passenger side frame rail and disconnect the coil and turn it over a bit to break the bolt free. use a six point socket though

In reading, I think it is best to also change the oil pump seal at the same time I replace the front crank seal?
I can do both seals without removing the oil pan? All I need to remove is the belts?

Remember the locations of the oil pump bolts, since the are different lengths.

When you replace the oil pump seal without removing the oil pan, do you have to put any kind of gasket sealer on the joint between the cover you remove to get to the oil pump seal and the oil pan so it doesn't leak?

If your dealing with a 22R series engine the oil pump bolts to the timing cover
The oil pump has a odd shaped o ring that seals it to the cover.
I always prime the oil pump if I remove it.
Fighting to replace a seal ruining 2 I now pull the oil pump
I have found it so much easier to remove the oil pump to replace the seal .
Easier to see and your able to drive the seal straight down
