Just got an 86 pickup IFS 5speed 22R that was hit pretty hard but has a good motor and lockers

what i was wondering is would the block on the 86 22R work with the heads and etc on a 87 4Runner with the 22RE since my 4Runner has spun a bearing.. will all the 87 parts bolt over without modification and create a good running motor??

The short answer is yes it should as long as the one in the 86 is a laser block. Look on the bottom of the exhaust side of the block and see if there is a shape embossed in the block. I don't know what its called but it is sort of a circle with two smaller ones atteched to each side. Not quite an oval. If yours has that then it is a laser block and should work fine. If not then it actually came out of a pre 85 truck.
