89 4runner issue
Ok so a bud and I swapped over a harness onto my runner, now it seems that the clutch cancel wont let it start, we didnt plug anything into the tranny, would this really stop it from starting? its acting just like i didnt push the button or didnt have the clutch in all the way.....Thanks.

Cool, but i was trying to say is, the plug, that activates the button under the pedal, or when the other button is pushed, is not wired right now. so mannana im gonna try that and if it works, woohoo, if not then im gonna need to tear apart the intake.

Ok, so now everything is plugged in, however it is still not starting!? it sounds like the clutch cancel start wont let it. i have the clutch all the way down and the button pushed and still no dice.
What are the two sensors in front of the engine under the Intake for? one is coolant and the other is???

Here are two sensors under the thermostat. The one in brown is for the cold start injector in the intake, like a #5 injector, auto choke for when it's cold. The green one is for the ECU, the computer used engine temp for air-fuel ratio with the injectors.

What do you mean by starting? Cranking or firing up? The clutch cancel switch kills the starter, it can be bypassed by splicing wires.

As for swapping over a harness? What harness? The complete wiring harness?
The truck will not start at all?
The truck will not start when you use the clutch cancel?
You stated in one of your follow ups that it just clicks???
It sounds like you might not have a good ground somewhere in the system. Double check your battery terminals and connections to make sure they are clclean and tight. Also double check the ground connections to the body and to the motor. If they are not tight and clean you will have an issue.
Check the positive wire at the starter to see if the connection is tight and also if it is clean.
Usually the clicking sound is either a dead battery or what I have found over the years it is a dirty or bad connections at the battery, starter or one of the ground wires.
Did you happen to check your fuses? In changing your harness you could of shorted or blown a fuse somehow.

We switched over the firewall harness, the one that goes through the firewall. then we found the connections were different so i put the old one back in. then it wouldnt start, i found out that the starter one wasnt plugged in, then it was clicking like the clutch wasnt pushed in nor the clutch cancel button.
I checked the fuses and they were all intact, thanks for the ideas im gonna go mess with it a little.
