22r & 22re

Is it true when the 22 switched to fuel injection, it went from 116hp to 128hp?
I have a 91 2.4l RE

dude it seems liek you ask alot of dumb questions a just saw your tc shock question and now this no one will answer because you should get a brain and learn how to search or go on pirate when it is tuesday and ask

I heard this like a rumor, and wanted a quick answer to see if anyone else knew the truth.

Someone said this to me via PM

What's really impressive about it as well is the fact that the Toyota engineers were able to make more numerical torque than horsepower (i.e. 116 hp/142 lb-lbf. for a 22R-E versus 128 hp/109 lb-lbf. for a 4A-GE).

thats odd as ive seen people get banned for calling someone paying 3k for a stock 22re long block stupid.... what gives?

I think it's saying that it's impressive that this little 4 banger makes more torque than horsepower, but that seems pretty common for a truck.

the torque thing has to do with crankshaft throw length. and yes, most trucks, and plenty of cars make way more torque than they do hp. I'm pretty sure all of the 20r based engines made more torque than hp.
