Hi guys... longtime reader, first time poster.

I have a 1994 Pickup, 22-RE. I was getting down to the fuel injectors to have them cleaned and I noticed that this plug is just dangling there unconnected to anything! At first I was thrilled, as I thought it was an unplugged fuel injector, which would explain my less-than-great mileage and low power. But unfortunately it wasn't that.

I attached a picture of it. If someone could go out and look at their truck, I would be so grateful! It is the same connector type as the one plugged into the top sensor in the pic, and it's in the same wire bundle too.

I also have that same mystery plug on a 22rec, never found out what it went to?

No, I don't. Could that be it? Doesn't seem like anything A/C related could be by the air intake because (I'm guessing here, like I said, I don't have it) I'd think it would all be mounted over the drive belt. As you can see in the pic, that cable doesn't reach very far.

 

it's for the ac idle up and since you don't have it it isn't plugged in. Don't worry about it i had mine for 10 years and had the exact same plug unplugged the whole time. It took for ever to figure out what it was until i saw one plugged in at a salvage yard.

Yep, Air conditioning VSV. Mine is the same way, it is unplugged.

 

Ok so I decided to do my own timing chain job cuz it was starting to rub on the engine, making that very noticeable noise. Open it up, low and behold the guide on the driver side is completely destroyed, way to much slack on the chain, and tensioner wore to thin to be useful, so I replaced all that, making sure that it was at TDC during the procedure, threw it all together, took a gander at the timing, and fired it up...... it runs fine for like 1.5 seconds, and bogs down to a stall within 2 seconds, everyone I know is stumped, and if we advance or retard the distributor, or its cap, it will die faster than the position I left it on, also when it first starts its at a constant 12 BTDC but then when it bogs down it get irratic from 10BTDC - 0 TDC, please any help is appreciated! I need to get to work too!

 

Might want to start a new thread if you want any attention to your problem, or better yet search through the numerous timing chain threads that have been thoroughly documented here.
