2" lift with 31 inch tires?

OK, I was originally going to do a 2" lift kit and then get larger tires, but due to a pretty hefty repair bill recently that depleted my funds I'm thinking I'll just lift it and keep the tires I have.

Does anybody out there have a 2nd gen 4Runner with a 2" lift and 31" tires? Or have an opinion on whether or not that would look goofy? I can't really decide.

Maybe I'll just get a leveling kit to get rid of the back end sag my old truck's got.

Ya it might look goofy. My truck looked pretty stupid with my 31" stock tires on it after I installed my body lift.

I would use the money you would put into a body lift towards some new rear springs.

its all in personal opinion. some people like the looks of "stuffed" tires, while others like to have a little room. personally i like the look of 2in on 31's. I will likely be doing a 2in Bl here before to long.

Actually I was going to get this, unless I decide to just get spacers.

Even if I get that though, I don't know whether to get the comfort one or the firm one...Decisions decisions.

I lifted the rear suspension 1.5" (2" with less than a full tank of gas), it would look fine if you lifted the front as well.

Dude,

Hit craigslist.org for your area. I bought 4 BRAND NEW BFG TA/KOs for 200 bucks. I am sure you could get a set of 33s somebody doesn't want for cheap...maybe already mounted on rims.

You're probably right, but I don't know if I want to have my truck to have even worse acceleration/power. I think I'm going to take a picture and photoshop it to see how it might look.

Why do a lift when the rig can fit 31's in stock form just fine.?

That being said, I bought a 1" body lift for my 4runner and I'm running 31's....but I'm planning on going bigger at some point.

My 4 Runner came stock with 31" tires - so if you just want 31s - you don't need any lift at all. I had 'em with no rubbing.

I lifted the truck the other day with BJ spacers and OME 901 rear coils. The front was still slightly higher in this pic because I had just finished and the T-bars had been cranked pretty good by the PO. It sits more level now.

Anyways.. here's a two inch lift with 31x10.50

Not without rubbing, stock. With some trimming, and/or beating you might be able to get away with 12.5's depending on backspacing but the general consensus from those who have tried is that on 3rd gen truck and 2nd gen 4runners, you can fit 33x10.5's stock, no lift. a 12.5 needs some lift. About 3-4" without trimming.

Yup thats exactly what happened to me when i tried to fit mine. So trucks getting a little bit of lift. which is fine its an excuse to put on good shock and fix my rear sag.
