1995 4runner 3.0 EGR issue, Code 71
Hello all, looking to see if anyone may be able to provide some assistance.
I've had a code 71 flashing for a couple weeks now. I knew when I purchased the vehicle that there was a vacuum leak in the system. I tested the VSV, Modulator and temp sensor, all of which were bad. I replaced them, include all vacuum line, with new or functioning parts. Code came back, decided to look at the EGR valve itself and noticed some of the threads were broken. Went ahead and put a new one in yesterday and since then it has been behaving much better. More power, no surging or low idle. On my way to work, the CEL came back on with a code 71. I have already gone through and replaced any defective parts I could find but the CEL is still there.
Is there something that I may have missed that could be causing the CEL to trip? Any help would be much apprecaited!
