EGR Temp sensor code after header install (code 71)

atleast i think it was code 71. if my mathematican is right.

Installed a downey long tube header on my 94 22re, now its throwing the egr temp code.

Could it be as simple as a bad gasket on the EGR tube?

And where the heck is the EGR temp sensor?

EGR temp sensor is on the firewall side of the intake manifold, right? little dinky thing?

Maybe pull it out, hit it with some electronics cleaner and a tooth brushe and give the threads some new PTFE tape?

pulled the sensor, it was covered pretty badly in carbon deposits.

soaked it in seafoam for a bit, hit it with a wire brush, now its clean and purty.

reset the light, plugged everything back up.... now just gotta wait and see.

Put a ten ohm resister in the wiring harness side. It will trick the ECU.

Not 10 ohm; 10,000 ohm resistor.
