got an issue with a surging idle (guessing 900-1300 aint got no tach) when warmed up and aint real sure on what to be checking. checked the air cleaner assy. and all that. cleaned the TB and air flow sensor. sn: i need a wwater pump to fix my overheating issue already did a new rad, ts, and new coolant so thats my next guess. aint been working on the truck lately been stuck in japan (thanks navy) but ill be back next month to get back on it. i heard something that may make me thing the IACV but id like a second or fourth opinion.

ALSO: got the a340 trans and currently am having issues with 1st gear. i put it in drive and it slips llike CRAZY with absolutely no power at the wheels. just enough to move. BUT if i put the shifter in L it IMMEDIATELY engages with no slip and ill manually shift to 2nd and so on. no other gears have issues. leads me to think 1st gear solenoid or somethin like that. got my eyes on a $188 rebuild kit with all the bells and whistles but i wanna start simple.

For sure check out that IAC. There's some really good threads on here about that. It will get gunked up pretty good and directly effect your idle.
