1988 Pickup Project?

A friend has offered to give me his 1988 Toyota SR5 Pickup Xtra Cab 22R-E 4 Wheel Drive with 250,000 miles as a project. It has been sitting since approximately 2013 he replaced the old 22R-E with one out of a 93 Pickup with 90,000 Miles in 2012 the bed is rotted pretty much completely off wheel well high all around. The passengers side rear wall is pretty thin under the window, the front passengers side brake is locked up, the windshield leaks on the passengers side the trim is gone, he says the heater used to only blow luke warm I'm guessing a clogged heater core, windshield wipers don't work I think its just a bad motor, and It dont run he says it will fire and run off starting fluid I'm guessing a fuel pump since I didn't hear it run when I turned the key on. It has larger tires on it that seem to be in good shape. What do you guys think? I hate to tell him to junk a Toyota but I dont want to get stuck with a money pit either. Any advice is appreciated.

what do we think about what? if your asking if you should receive a free Toyota truck from someone, then I would say the consensus on a Toyota fan forum would be yes.

First welcome to YT, if you're asking our opinion of the rig, the best thing you could do is give us a lot of pictures. I too would have a hard time telling someone to scrap a Toyota.

I agree with the others above!

Take it! I hate to scrap a Toyota.

But be warned, the Truck is probably a money pit, with rust and drivetrain being the most expensive issues.
