1988 4runner problems, i think ive solved it

i have posted a couple threads not that long ago about some of my problems..

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/milkeshake-1988-4runner-87354/
and
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/transmission-problem-85551/

I believe both of these problems are related to my transmission leaking. Can it leak oil into the radiator? Also now the transmission makes a nasty noise while moving forward, just while starting out. at cruising speed i cant hear anything.

Didn't you say you had a manual transmission?

In either case, if you have anything cooling through your radiator I'd start from the radiator and work backwards. Look for auxillary hoses on the bottom tank of the radiator and then follow them back. If you don't have an automatic transmission, you're more likely to have an engine oil cooler. Check all your fluids. You've got to be loosing some oil or gaining some water in something. Good luck.

Have you done a compression check? Sounds like a HG. I'd suspect if it is indeed your HG then running that milky oil has ruined your bearings on the bottom end. That would also explain the load knock you're hearing when you start to take off. Sorry, for your sake I hope I'm wrong.

That's because your engine is not under load. It's the same reason you don't try to do whole shots when you're pulling a trailer.
