1987 new engine wont pull itself into driveway

Just installed a reman 22re long block in my 1987 toyota pickup, got it all done and it has thrown code 11. I installed new tp sensor and there was no change. The pickup will barely get up to 20mph. Please help!

Installing means it is adjusted correct? Can not simply bolt a new one on.

Distributor off a tooth?

Seems to run smoothly but once its under load trying to pull itself it falls on its face. Firing order is correct and have checked the timing multiple times.

I found on top of the valve cover towards the rear there is a little box with a electronic connecter and theres a vacuum line from the intake going into the front, then on the back there looks like there should be 2 vacuum lines but one is broke off. Does anyone know what this, where the vacuum lines run to on the back, and if this could cause the problem? I dont see any vacuum lines not hooked up so not sure about it

First off the TPS has to be adjusted for the engine to operate properly, there is no way around it.

The rear VSV (Vacuum Switching Valve) on my 86 goes to the fuel pressure regulator.

The front VSV on mine does have 2 hoses which you can just see in the bottom of the first pic.

I got cha. The rear VSV should only have 1 hose on each side. Vacuum from the plenum and then on the rear it should go down to the fuel pressure regulator.

The VSV with 2 outlets and 1 inlet is for the AC Idle system. The front inlet is open to atmosphere and the rear go to the idle speed adjusting knob.

Possible yours are backwards?

The top one here is actually at the middle of the valve cover.

Adjusted the tps and then checked the timing, aparently that sensor effects timing because it was way off so i retimed it and it seems to run much better
