1987 4runner rear window switch

My rear window rolls up and down with the key switch but not the center console switch. I opened and cleaned the center console switch and it still doesn't work. I jumped it at the center console switch plug and it works up and down. Does that mean its a bad switch?

You mean you unplugged the center console switch from the connector on the harness, and you jumped pin 1 to pin 2, then pin 5 to pin 2?
If so, yes, in the past 34 years someone must have poured coffee, soda, beer, etc on that switch at least once

Yes exactly so i had it narrowed down to a bad switch. I opened and cleaned it once and it did not work. So i was suggested to bend the see saw part inside a bit so it applies more pressure to the contact points and it works now. So if you feel your switch is bad clean and bend the see saw part inside a bit before re installing the switch. thanks!

Sounds like a bad switch, but you might want to clean the window lock switch, too, and see if that has any involvement.
