1986 22r Starter Relay difference
I recently purchased a male end starter relay off of a 1986 22r and when I went to put it on my 1986 22r, I realized the starter relay
on my truck was a female end. I was wondering how I can make the male end into a female end like my original starter relay ?

Take the pigtail/connector off the original and splice it on to the new one.
BUT, why are you doing this?
I doubt if your starter relay is defective. Pls see my signature. In the 6 years I've ben with Yotatech, I have never heard of a starter relay going bad on our trucks except for this
Are you aware of this? https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52297396

My original starter was clicking, so I got a new starter and it ran but then burnt up. What I’ve been told it’s either because the starter relay has gone bad or it’s the ignition switch gone bad. I got a new starter relay because it was the easiest thing to try first and seeing if that was the issue before I went to the ignition switch

Are you having the issue now? Describe your symptoms in detail and be EXACT; we are not in front of your engine compartment. Exactly what do you see, hear, feel, and where.
Pls see my signature.
You have been told wrong.
BUT starter relay was wired wrong AT THE FACTORY. If you don't fix it then your ignition switch may go bad.
The easiest and least expensive thing to do is read this:

Fix your issue for $11.

To be accurate, please post clear picture of wires going to your starter relay. Show both harness side and relay side.
Make sure you show or note EXACT wire color going to each connector pin.

Regardless of whether that relay works or not, you have to verify that is wired correctly. 100% of the 22RE from 1986 to 1989 that I have seen on this forum and at t4R.org had starter relay wired wrong at the factory.
