When rollering paint, you are supposed to go back over it with another roller or a 2" foam brush with paint on it to help eliminate the bubbles.
A long read but worth it to get good tips. Your paint job is savable.

I've done decent paint jobs with rattle cans. You have to prep it like you would a professional paint job. I stripped it to bare metal with Aircraft Remover. I sanded to rough it up a bit. Then I cleaned and degreased. I ended up doing 2 coats of primer, sanded and cleaned it again, and then 3 coats of paint, and then 2 coats of clear coat. Looked better than that Maaco crap. I pulled my hood, doors, fenders and tailgate off and took my time over the course of a few days.

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.

When you say you thinned it out 10 percent, what is the formula behind that. I want to do this here soon, and also it looks like you just used a urethane paint? I might be doing it will Rust-Oleum protective enamel. I was just curious on what the formula on mixing the paint and thiner was, and how many coats have you laid down in one day?

I didn't tape the back because I am retarded. I was confident that my wife could trim it well and she did, but the space between the window and top of the bed is small and when I went back over it with the roller I dicked it all up. I will definitely be taping the back next coat and the door seal better than i did.
I learned a lot from doing the first coat.

To thin it I poured the paint into a mixing container with all the ratios on it and added 10% thinner ratio to the paint.
Epifanes Mono urethane has a 24 hour dry time before you can wet sand so one coat every 2 days at the most. Brightside has a faster dry time and I would have gone with that but they didn't offer a color I liked.
This is how I got started.

if you are stripping to bare metal it is essential that you use an acid etch primer and not just a high build primer. paint is porous and without the acid etch protection it can rust and cause all kinds of problems. if you want to paint your truck quickly i would spray it. you can use a single stage paint and be done with just a few coats.

Sorry no progress on the paint job lately.
Its been put on hold due to the recent flooding here in ND. I'm a crew chief on the Blackhawk helicopter in the guard here in ND and we have been really busy the last few days trying to stop the flooding in bismarck caused by an ice jam on the Missouri river. Well we got that one fixed thursday, blew holes in the ice with C4 and used sanding machines to put salt on the ice. Now we are busy in Fargo ND helping with the flooding on the red river, the whole ND national guard has been activated so I probably won't get to this until after its all over.
Thats me directing the salting crews in to reload the machine. Its the only pic we took during the whole fiasco.
