wiring 22r carb

wiring 22r carb

i have a 3 wire carb with the connector cut theres 2 black and 1 red wire where do they connect to? i found a plug by the battery thats not connected to anything but its 4 wires

ON my 87 the plug on the carb is green, your 85? might be different though. What color is the connector you found? What colors are the wires on the connector you found?

The red wire is for the choke wire, one should be for the vent solenoid, another for the idle cutoff solenoid. Those would be the two black wires.

Gonna assume your truck is an 85. What year did the carb come out of?

i dont have the plug for the carb but its green on the wiring side and i think its 2 black/yellow 1white and 1 black but not positive on those last two. can i just wire the carb to switched power? and im not sure the year the carbs from

On my 85 on the harness side one prong is a switched hot that applies voltage when key is in on position the same prong also applies more coltage when engine is running that prong goes to the elec choke. there is also a ground the other on mine went to the shut of solinoid

the choke coil and shut-off solenoid goes to switch 12V, not sure on the vent solenoid.

But that green connector you found is the original carb plug. I have to look at mine to see, but I think my 87 was only three wires. I no longer have the stock carb on mine though. Not sure where I put the old one either off hand, if I even still have it. lol.
