stalls while warm

ok i have just got my new motor in and have had some troubles with it.. as i go down the road it randomly stalls when warm if i let off the gas at all.. i normally drop the clutch and it fires back up. but the other day i idled around a corner and it stalled and wouldnt fire back up. i got a ride home and went back in about 10 minutes and it fired up after a couple tries of cranks. It runs pretty good and idles alright while cold. it also seems like its being held back while accelerating and backfires when decelerating.

Is the warm idle speed to factory spec? 750 or 700?

I have the same troubles right now. I have a 22re. For me the warm idel is set correct. My problem showed up after I pulled the valve cover to recheck the head bolts. When I put it back on the issue showed up right away. All the vaccum hoses are in place. I check and somebody else checked. Anybody have ideas?

It has a newer gasket on there less than 400. I have never needed to change it before.

No vaccum gauge. Do you know hot to test for leaks?

the guage would b the easiest thing and if u have one of those mini torches u can spray a small amount of propane around the area that might b leaking if it bogs down or revs up u got a leek also u can use certain starting fluid but b careful these items r flammable id go rent a vaccum guage or pick one up there not that expensive

Problem solved. The air intake hose/pipe which connects to the Throttle Body was not on tight. Someone pointed out that if air leaks in after the MAF sensor it will throw off the fuel/air ratio once the engine is warmed up.
