now the bad part is. they all say he needs a new carb. well i got a new carb. put a weber on. has more power. but still idles like this... what can it be? i got no vacuum leaks...

 

Vacuum leak in the brake booster? Do your brakes go to the floor?
Big nasty cam?
Hows the off-idle response.
Mine occasionally does this when the choke won't kick on when it's cold.
Possible clogged slow jet?

 

brakes are good, cam is stock lol. and its a brand newwww weber, 32 36. and my choke isnt hooked up but i let it warm up all the way and it idles like that still

 

when you installed the weber, did you readjust it via the redline website "lean best idle" procedure? sometimes those carbs arent set correctly from the factory, or are set up better for a different motor/rig. and im also curious to know whether or not you get good response through the rest of the rpm range.

you could have a really plugged up egr system if you havent deleted that yet i would definately get that going. it worked wonders on all the 20r's/22r's ive desmogged.

depending on how old the motor is or how many miles there are on it, seafoam might do you wonders. it cleared up the rough idle i had on my motor i just put it with higher miles. it cleans the varnish and oil grime all throughout your motor. put a half can in the gas tank, and use the rest to either put it directly into your carb with it running or suck it into the intake via a vacuum hose. I.E. the vacuum advance port or the brake booster. it will INSTANTLY make your car run smoother.

ok so here is the new question guys. i put a weber on my 22r 4runner. it was running excelent. now all of a sudden it just dies on me. idle, reving it, it sounds almost like it is bogging down no matter what i do with the throttle, at idle or driving. i barely got it home yesterday. does anyone have any clue why its dieing out? after its good spree of running like no other?

 

Sry if i seem to spam, seems my posts before i have not been so clear and dont get much help. What i have done. I installed a weber 32/36. it was running like a champ, just veryyyyy rich. reason i havnt tuned it yet is that my motor has major leaks which i wanted to fix before i left it running to tune it. now after i drove it to my dads work, which is a toyota dealership to ask a simple question on my intake. well on te way home i went to hit the gas and my truck basically falls on its face. if i go full throttle it BOGSSSSSS blahhhhhhhh until it dies lol. what i dont understand is it ran perfect besides all of my leaks of oil and such. does anyone know what it could possibly be or have a answer to why it just dies out? today i tried starting it and it only runs for maybe 20 seconds then it dies. i am really confused how it can be fine one day then just start goin to crap.... i really need some assistance guys. never have i had these problems with a vehicle. and since my leaks are so bad i picked up a motor from my buddy for 200 bucks. that will be going in a couple days, but i am afraid that only takes care of my leaks. what can be causing the bogging!!?!?? thanks guys.
