Rebuilt Engine and Gauges not working..WHY?

I started up my truck for the first time today after my rebuild/body swap and now none of the guages on the dash work properly (Fuel, Tach, ect). Is there something I need to do to adjust them for them to work? I am putting in an aftermarket cluster but my dash ones worked before the rebuild and I would like them to work now.

Start with checking all your electrical connections under the hood and your fuses.

I checked all my connections quite a few times. Im going to install a second tach today and see if that one works or not and go from there. The guages move and everthing, they are just way off. The RPM guage sits at 4,000RPMs when the truck is ideling.
