Power Window messing up

I'm having an issue with the drivers side power window on my '85
I can operate the passenger side both directions from the master switch on the drivers door. But the Drivers side will only go down (It is currently stuck down.) If I hit the button to go down, the motor acts like its trying to go down and the door light dims if the truck is off (its drawing power), but if I hit the button to go up it doesn't do anything, no power draw whatsoever.

I plan on converting to manual windows soon, but I don't have the time or parts right now. (thought I had the parts, but ebay seller sent me a manual window regulator for a door with a vent window, I do not have vent windows )

Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue? or atleast how to get the window up? I've tried forcing it up, but nothing will budge and I'm afraid of breaking the glass.

Side question: Can anyone tell me the difference between a manual window regulator for a truck with vent windows vs. one without?

If you need to get the window up you can run a wire, or jumper cables from the battery(one pos one ground) and splice into the two wires going to the window motor. When you first hook it up, if it tries to go down switch the polarity(switch the jumper cables around) and it will go up. that's a temp fix to get the windows up if the motor is still good. I'm going through issues with my 88 power windows myself.

Thanks! I'll be attempting that when I get home. I really need to be able to drive my '85 and its been sitting at the house for the past three days.

I still haven't been able to figure out the specific difference between vent or non-vent manual window regulators. I'll continue to google it.

Got the windows fixed for now. I unplugged all the plugs leading to the power window and tore apart the switch, and blasted them all with Electronic connector cleaner. (Took quite a bit of blasting on the switch, amazing how much build up of crap you can get in 28 years) reassembled it and everything worked!
