If you decide you want to get the 4runner pictured, have the owner help you get the top off. From what I remember when taking the roof off my old '86 4runner it doesn't look like there is enough clearance with the Exo cage to get that top off.

I guess that the Exo bars (left side below the door and just forward of left rear wheel) are rusted due to the wife pivoting the Runner off of Grocery Carts at the Corvallis Safeway or a poor paint job. Not sure about the never wheeled part. My sliders are rusty due to rocks and trees..

Find out what the cage was built out of (DOM, HREW, Sch. Pipe)

Wow, I guess I need to get refreshed when I say wheel and do a little bit of a better description of the truck's usage.

When I say wheel I mean running through a mediocre rock garden, shale trail, onto snow covered hillsides, or out to sandlake, florence, or brown's camp.

The owner of the truck has done some trail driving and some rescues, nothing quite like what I'm pretty sure many of you would consider wheeling...if those of you consider driving up forest service and fire roads wheeling, well yes, then it would have been wheeled per say. This could describe some of the rust on the exo cage but I'm honestly not sure, this is giving me a lot more questions to ask the owner.

As for what I'm really going to use it for, I'm really looking for a vehicle that I'll have for a long time that will be practical enough to drive here and there occasionally (to pick up groceries and dates of course), but also a good enough rig to keep up with some more serious individuals on the trails. I'll also use it as my rig to get up and down the mountain come ski season, and it's also possibly going to be used in search and rescue applications.

I was thinking that this truck might fulfill my needs, sounds like you guys are def on your game! Thanks again for helping me out.

You can never ask the owner enough questions. I ask the owner of the truck i just picked up a million questions. If anything you'll annoy him enough he'll drop the price haha

That thing would be a really fun toy, problem is I need to haul skis, other people, climbing gear, camping gear, spare parts, spare tire, jack, etc etc.

Wouldn't be too terribly practical, but then again I sold a perfectly good stock toyota pickup for a Jeep...who am I kidding?
