ping or valves help please

Ok I haveMy 85 toyota pickup 4x4 with the 22rec . I bought it with new everything engine tranny the works ... I was worried it was pinging Because under load like acceleration or starting off in first I would hear a ticking or clacking sound. The motor runs extremely quiet even for a 22re and the sound it's making isn't intermittent it's constant like the valve sound would be just a littler louder then when the engine picks up some mechanical advantage it goes away. I haven't had it do it up hills or anything and I owned a 92 toyota 22re that did ping and it was an intermittent audible "ping" sound like if u wack two wrenches together and it did that pulling hills till I downshift. I'm just worries is it pinging i hear or can i put my worries to rest? It's not chain slap there's only 1000 miles on the engine and it sounds nothing like my 92's ping. Oh and I've ran 87 and 92 octane no change to the noise and even retarded the timing

Get out yer combination wrenches and feeler gauges and give it a valve adjustment.
A relatively easy and completely cost free operation.
If that does'nt correct it, at least you'll have the comfort of knowing what your valve lash actually is, rather than relying on who knows whos' work, and you can then move on to other possible reasons for your noise.

Sorry, your original post appeared to say that the truck had come to you with these rebuilt components installed.

Oh no I apologize I was just hoping to figure out if the sound I was hearing was pinging ? The ticking clacking valve sound it's constant and not intermittent like any pinging I've heard before or metallic like pinging. Just curious if it's normal valve train noise . Funny thing is I'm great with these engines but I've never heard a new one run haha

Ok I think I may have found some info and that it may possibly be the injectors which makes sense it's a dull sound and ticks in "time" and by that I mean increases with engine speed but only does it under acceleration or trying to start off in 1st gear
