ya thats about it, have mounting brackets whith were just little pieces of sheet metal welded to the cage, and just used some rubbery material as washers to prevent rattling the dash, and used nuts with locktite to keep um on, id recomend welding the nuts to the cage so that they are easier to take off

the dash was modeled for a ford ranger so it needed alot of shaving and cutting, the width was ok to go, but the contour of the windshield and holes for roll gage and the steering wheel and turning signal and stuff was very difficult, i dont know an easy way to do it, i just cut it slowly and layer by layer until it fit just right.

Here is my almost stock 85. Just bought it about a month ago. Swapped the front springs out right before this pic, doing some chev rears tomorrow hopefully. Getting some 36" iroks then just breaking parts and replacing them with stronger.

Totally missed this question... I wish I hadn't done the bedliner on the bottom because it'd textured and catches too much mud and then the cleanup is a pain.

Plus, I think it looked better all green. The black accent is nice but the green is cool enough that the black isn't needed.

Hah, I hadn't really seen anyone else make an RC that matches their 1:1 rig. So now, it's you and me. Here's my RC, it's a Traxxas Summit with a 2 speed transfer case and FRONT AND REAR locking diffs, ALL REMOTELY controlled. It's just too cool.

My rig has changed somewhat since I've last posted: (this is just the new stuff in the last year or so)
IFS rear axle with Caddy disc brakes
Budbuilt crossmember\skids
Aussie front locker (you can hear it clicking at the beginning of the vid)
Moved engine computer up into glovebox and waterproofed it
New front tube bumper
Sliders

youtube vid of Dingmans '85 4Runner

EDIT: Here's another video with some banjo music added... har har har.... Dingman vod 02 at the Farm in Missouri

It's a work in process. My 85 4Runner has been parked about 5 years (don't hate me!). I traded it off once for a j**p. Yeah, sad I know. So I got it back and drove it for a while. I've got several pics of me working on it, but right now it's an ugly vehicle only a mother (or single guy in this case) could love.

I need the following if anyone can hook me up CHEAP:

* Brake booster / master cylinder
* Fuel tank
* Front / rear springs
* 4 wheels

Anyone got any spare parts cheap? I have another truck I'm parting out.

the PO made it.

Excuse the welds on the rear bumper. Was tacked like that and will be redone very soon.

Not meant for actual towing, despite the hitch.

this is my $100 dollar 85 it has everything I could figure out about an 85 sr5 except a/c it had an oil leak in the front end out of the balancer the bolt was loose we put a new front seal in it to be safe. then I rigged up an old tank in the bed to get it running and it fired up first try. it sat for 8 or 9 yrs it was last tabbed in 2000.
I want to completely restore it back to stock except for a rear locker and a front lsd.maybe some 31x10.5 mudders and that is it.
