Purchased an 85 4runner from dexter350k (Keith) on the forums here. I debated doing the work she needs, but after driving her around for two days I was convinced. Shes a beauty.


I plan on having a local mechanic cut out the rust on the quarter panels and weld new steel in - sandblasting the rockers and then I plan on herculining the rockers, quarters and wheel wells. The frame needs a bit of rust work on one of the rails -and behind the quarter panels - but I think a wire brush and some por15 should do the trick. Plus, I plan on undercoating her over the winter.

I have to say this thing drives better, and feels better than my tacoma - plus the 21-26mpg isnt bad either!

IMO, Its the perfect truck.
