I thought I had!!! I learned so much and thought I had it all figured out. Now I'm left with...no injector pulse. I'm getting spark, it turns over at about 600-700 rpm, I've looked through all of my fuses, ohmed out and volted out everything possible, double checked all of my wiring, and banged my face against the grill. I have the IGT lead from the ECU going straight into the starter to bypass the NSS. My main relay clicks and all of that. The only thing that I haven't done is hook a 12v LED to my injector harness but my exhaust manifold is bone dry bone dry (piping isn't hooked up) so it's clearly not getting fuel.

It is an '84 4runner if that helps. I don't see a check engine light or trouble code. If you can think of something obvious the please for God's sake let me know. If you live in central ohio, you're really nice, and would be willing to lend me some time or want some money, please email me. I need help or I'm going to roll this thing out of my garage into my driveway and just set the thing on fire. I just want to hear this thing run so I can order my suspension and brakes. Please please help! Thank you ahead of time for solving all of my problems.

 

Bad fuel pump?

 

Does your fuel pump work? lol! So, your injectors just aren't firing? Did you do an engine swap or something? Perharps a little more info might help...?

 

Check and see if your truck has a solenoid resister, if it does then check to see if its good, power goes through it to the injectors and if its bad your injectors won`t work. My 86 4Runner has one and it went bad and i checked everything like you have done, and i couldn`t find the problem, i had another solenoid resister laying around and as a shot in the dark i tryed it out and my 4Runner started on the first try. the solenoid resister is mounted on the passenger side inner fender, it has cooling fins on it and two plugs comming out of it.

 

Oh yeah, good post! I totally forgot about that damn thing. Geez I just had it all disconnected doing compression checks the other day! There should be an easy check in the FSM to make sure it's good too.

 

Yea, it was strange when the one on my 4Runner went bad, it was running good one minute and then went to start it and nothing, I had an extra one that i tryed and i got lucky, it worked. I guess its one of those parts that hardly ever goes bad, but it can, and i have no idea how to test it.

 

I think I saw the schematic for it in the FSM when I was fartin around the other day, if the OP wants I can write it up or he can SEARCH for an online manual...probably faster! lol!

 

Thats how i figured out what it was, i started looking through the FSM until i found it, and then i found the wiring diagram for it and it plugs into the fuel injectors harness, and if it goes bad the injectors don`t get any power to operate.

 

I've hooked my fuel pump straight to battery to confirm I have fuel pressure and I have checked my solenoid resistor, coil, circuit opening relay and main relay. I just don't know what else I can do.

 

Are your grounds good?

 

I've double checked all of my grounds. Everything that is suppose to measure as ground does so.

Pull out your injectors and see if they are dirty. I just went through the same thing you are, and I pulled mine out and they wer clogged so bad cylender 2 and 3 wer bone dry.

Haha...very nice. No. I went back through everything and more and still can't find the problem. The good news is I got a hold of a friend that has gone through what I'm going through and he's stopping by this weekend. Then he told me once we get it running (because it is my haulin' vehicle) that he's just going to give me a 5 spd trans (I think a W56) with a top shift transfer case, a couple of 22re's and a few spare heads. Nothing wrong with them...he just wants to get them out of his garage.
