New engine for a 1st gen.

Hello all,

Ok I am in the market for a rebuilt 22r long block. I would like to squeeze a little extra HP out of it while keeping it smogable (got to love California). There are a few places on the web I have looked at and if possible I would like to get some feed back.

Jasper engines

LC engineering

DOA (have read some bad things so far).

Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks.

I really want to buy a complete block with warranty this way I can rebuild my stock block for allot more horse power and not have to worry about smog. Then I can just do a swap when it needs to be smoged. This is my daily driver but when I am ready to dedicate it to only a toy I can put in the modified engine, this will also give me plenty of time to put the engine together.

Thanks

I have a complete 22re with all the parts that you would need to swap it over. I am in Tehachapi if you are interested.

I will keep you in mind. Not sure if I really want to take on a complete EFI conversion.
Thanks
Mike.

I went with Oregon Engine Rebuilders. This is the thread:

Check out their website on eBay. Just do a search for 22r and they will show up with an engine for just under 1000. You'd save a lot of money on shipping as well since you are West Coast.
