Need some key pointers on tranny swap

I have an '85 pickup with a 22RE and auto tranny, and going to swap to a manual tranny. What are some of the things I have to look for while doing this?? Im assuming there will be issues with wire harness' and such...your imput is MUCH appreciated!!
