my NEW FREE toy *4.3 swap done*
well after going out to a new found fishing hole, my friend and i were headed home and he told me this one guy (who's house we were driving by) used to have a toyota just sitting out in font and it never moved. so we go a little farther and see it but it is in the back of his place. so we back up and go talk to him and he said the motor was blown (his son didn't pay much attention to things like OIL) but he put in a "newer" engine but it leaked water. so we walk around and look at it. it is a red x-tra cab 4x4 straight axle and has the 22re in it. so we beat around and talk about this and that and he says just come and pick it up and it is yours. so we are going to get it at 4:30 tomorrow.
SCORE
his place needs some work so we are going to do some work for him so he gets something out of it as well.
will post pict of "how it sat" and others then. i am freaking stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*********page 4 has the swap info and pg 6 has the picts for a 2003 4.3 vortec******

well turns out i already have a nice toyota and my buddy that was with me when we found it had to sell his a year ago, we decided that it should be his.
so far the stats...
*1985 4x4 xcab
*140k on odo/chassis
*auto tranny
*gorgeous interior
*frozen motor (one in truck)
*frozen extra motor
besides the engine it needs
-drivers rear xcab glass
drivers door is faded a orangeish and the rest of the truck is the same uniform red. frivers fender has some dents, but nice looking none the same.
PICTS!!!!!
as it sat
drivers int
on trailer
after first wax in 10 years
bad engine
int out
probably wont be working on it for a day or 2(have other prearranged plans)
but yes i will keep everyone in the loop
on a side note this will be the 5th truck we have built this year from non running platforms.
the truck will be called the bee (short for FREE BEE, HA HA HA HA)

you lucky sumbitch. Awesome find, I tried scoring a little blue 2wd long bed that was faded and had grass growing up through the bed and cab. Was very polite to the guy and asked him if I could take care of the truck for him or how much he wanted for it and he hatefully said it's not for sale and slammed the door in my face. He moves it around every now and then... Good find and hope that you get that thing wheelable. It's a free truck so chop, bob, dovetail the hell out of it and make it your trail rig!

You guys scored big time! It's cool that you are going to do some work around the donor's place to show some appreciation. I think that will make him pretty happy- he gets rid of an eyesore (to him anyway), and gets some free labor!

dont know what brand but they are alum wheels and we are going to put 235/75/15s on there opposed to the 31/10.5s that are on there now. that will get up close to stock(225-75-15) tire size for gearing/millage reasons.
thanks for all of the input.
