MPG for stocker 1st gen runner?

Hello all, as I realize the 1st gen. spans a few years and has IFS or Straight. I wanted to know what the MPG were like with the 22r or 22re and unmodified. I saw one sitting the other day and was going to inquire and thought about making it the daily driver.

Thank You

Aaron

4runner MPG

I was getting 23-24 mpg on my 87 runner, after I did a bunch of things to improve it (including adjusting my driving style). Now I get about 19-20 since I added a locker, brush guard, safari rack and slightly bigger tires.

18 to 20 mpg running 31 10.5's after a complete tuneup. IMO, these trucks are great as far as reliability and fun to drive, but are not the best on fuel economy, even stock.

I seem to average over 20mpg. Went on a trip one weekend, put 90 miles on the truck, and the gas gauge was just under the 3/4 mark when I got home. Always impressed by this thing.

I run around 17-18 in the summer and about 22 mpg in the spring, summer fall.
