Missing timing mark on crank

Hi! Replacing timing chain on 84 22r.. Made it to getting everything back together, and there appears to be no dimple or mark of any kind on the crankshaft other than the key bit confused about what to do

sometimes the crank pulley can spin on the shaft it rests on.

so the mark could be there, just not where it should be, in line with the key.

The timing mark is on the harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley).
