Lowering a lifted truck

So, I recently picked up an 85 that's lifted higher than I would like. The frame sits at about 27" off the ground with 35's, and I'd like to be more in the 24" range if possible. Fenders are already trimmed so I'm sure there won't be a clearance issue.

It currently has Alcans, and I do like the ride but there's no need to be up that high. Plus I'm toying with the idea of running 33s and this thing would look stupid the way it is with tires that small, haha.

It seems like I should be able to take a leaf out of each spring, but I'm hoping for advice from someone who may have done this before. Which spring? The lowermost? Somewhere in the middle? I certainly don't mind softening up the ride... It would be nice to nail this on the first try though since it seems like a PITA to pull a leaf out.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can give!!!

How many leafs in the packs? Got pictures?

If they are Alcans, give them a call, they can tell you exactly which leaf to pull.

Lowering shackles might work or just shorter shackles in general. Seems like the easiest way I can think of off the top of my head the amount you can lower it that way would depend on the way it was lifted tho

Calling Alcan is a great idea, I'll do that!

Here are pics, 8 leafs in the rear packs and 6 in the front.

Well, in case anyone else wants to do this I will update the thread.

Alcan said they never recommend removing leaves. Basically they will be too soft (they are already really soft) and the shackle angle and placement will be all wrong.

All well I guess 27" frame height with 35's at street pressure isn't toooooo crazy.
