yes it does look terrible but hopefully it will hold up to everything you throw at it.

You think yours was bad ...

Hi, I am looking at buying a 88 4wd Xtra cab with only 100 k miles, but I got scared when I saw the same problem that you just repaired. I admired your DIY repair and thanks for posting it. I don't think it looks bad and I don't definitely couldn't match it.

This is the only problem with the frame that I saw and I looked it over very thoroughly.

Since I can't repair it myself, I am going to seek quotes from some 4wd shops around. What do you think is a fair price to repair it?

I plan to use the truck for hauling stuff around and possibly for a snowplow.

sorry about the late reply, been busy with my new toy. we did basically the same thing you did, cut plates to fit in everywhere(a little better but we had all winter to do it), weld and paint. that was back when I lived with my folks so no pics
