Intermittent Turn Sig cancel

And now it gets weirder. It’s been almost a month without turn sigs since they stopped working when I used the hazard flasher. I’ve tried the turn sigs a few times since then and nada – until today. I, by habit, signaled for a turn and VOILA it worked – which surprised me. So I tried the other sig and it worked – to my surprise and possibly to the person behind me.
I shall detail here all the work I’ve done on the turn sigs recently – NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH and ZERO. No touchy, no feely, nothing. I did do an oil change last weekend.
What makes this weird is this is the second issue with the turn sigs that has essentially fixed itself. As you may, or may not, recall, the intermittent turn sig cancel problem became essentially “fixed” when I removed the steering wheel to look at its mounting etc in preparation to put on a better wheel. I figure what happened is removing the wheel loosened up something and allowed the mechanism to operate.
But this new “fix” is outta the blue. Any thoughts guys?

Now that it's fixed, don't change your oil anymore -LOL!
Seriously, it's gotta be mechanical with the signal switch combo. Or it's contacts/connections.

Whenever I've pulled contacts/connections apart on this truck they have fairly good as long as they had not been messed with. I think its been in the desert most of its life.
I'm still gonna try to find a combo switch at a parts yard so I can study/play with it. I really don't want to touch it now that it is working.
Hey BTW, in your rebuilding have you ever taken close up pics of the combo switch?
Whenever I've pulled contacts/connections apart on this truck they have fairly good as long as they had not been messed with. I think its been in the desert most of its life.

but
now, as you said, the vapor that was locked . . . passed. Felt good too.

Hey! ! ! I'll have you know I used virgin blinker fluid - do you have ANY idea how hard it is squeeze fresh virgin blinkers?
