Instrument light on with brakes?

Instrument light on with brakes?

Any one else have this?

some time when I hit the brakes my instrument cluster lights turn on..

I don't think this always happened, its kinda weird.

It sounds like you are getting a back feed of power. The wire for the brake lights and the wire for the driving lights might be rubbed somewhere and letting power pass back and forth. On older chevys the wrong tail light bulb would cause it. If you have a pigtail for a trailer you might start there.

Ok, I have seen before where the brake lights are wye'd into the turn signals and they back feed all the park/instruments lights.

Probably have a short of the brake to park circuit somewhere

thanks for the info

I was hoping for an easy, Oh mind did that and it problem was right here kind of answer..

I'll find it one of these days, dome light also does not turn on when the drivers door is opened..

I'll have to get all of the other little issues fixed first..
