Dude that thing is sweet!
I have allways want to build some cheap turbo set up for a carbed 22r/20r.
Yea some heat shielding to the booster and other stuff, 3in down pipe with some heat wrap. No muffler piped out the side yea!!
Also you might want to build a intake pipe off the turbo about 6in or more getting that filter closer to your grill for some more air. If you can wrap the intake pipe with heat wrap, or build a sheild to keep the heat out of the filter.
What are you running for boost controller?
More pics!

idk but one day my friend got all kinds of pissed off when off the light my little truck rebuilt but still stock for the time being kept up with his 350 vortec god i love manual transmissions when i turbo my truck im going to put a new clutch in it i can slip mine now
ps thats originally what brought me to this thread even though i dont have a carbed engine it always interest me when people do it with carbs heard they are very hard to tune

To much fuel Im Way to rich as it is and the carb I have is very tunable just gotta know what ur doing I can't seem to get it right all because the intake manifold adapter I mad has a huge vacuum leak the new part will be in next week and my carb hat does not have a seal on it so I'm a little worried that when i seal everything up it will run like 14 psi boost because the guy I got the waste gate from said he was able to hit that but he had a few spring and not sure wich one but so far I've hit 7 to 8 psi

if you splice into the tubing that runs from the compressor housing to the wastegate you can put a mechanical boost controller on it i cant remember what the name of the valve is but basically its a needle valve

I will have to admit I am completely clueless on a turbo setup but man that thing looks wicked, did you have to run any extra wiring or anything? I'm very interested in doing this to my 22r engine

No wiring for the turbo but I have an electric fuel pump that input in and it's worth it of u like to keep the trucks four banger but if it blows it's getting a 350 small block next
