to SuperRunner I was wondering how your CT12 build went

I am currently working on a CT12 twin turbo manifold.....just for kicks. I should have it ready to bolt on within a couple weeks, just need to find a donor engine to test it on now.

Anyway, one post caught my eye and that is what TrusyRusty said. I will have to somewhat dissagree. You cannot get a lot of power out of the 22RE very easily, you know why? Airflow. 22RE heads don't flow worth crap. That is my only concern with spooling up these two turbos. Sure the turbos were ment for a 2.5L I6 and the 22RE is a 2.5L I4, so in theory you would think the 22RE would do just fine.....WRONG!!!!! The 1JZ head flows around 200cfm on the intake. A 22RE is a whole wopping 130cfm. This is SEVERLY going to limit what the 22RE engine can really do.

You can get 22R head to flow juast as much, and more, but you will sacrifice low lift flow, so off boost power will be terrible.

So, anyody know of anyone that has done a twin turbo 22RE?
I have been looking into doing a twin turbo setup on a 22re in the last couple of months and have talked to LC engineering about doing so. Was just wondering if you did a true twin turbo setup or a compound setup. If not what other turbo did you use? My plan is to use a smaller Subaru turbo and a CT26 or i would love to do a Holset HX35 depending on how it goes if at all. I have it all mostly figured out what Im going to use except for the manifold. I was wondering if you could send me some pictures of your manifold and how you designed it so I could get a couple hints and maybe have something to go off. I found a thread on building a single turbo manifold but this is the closest thread I've seen that someone has actually built a twin turbo manifold.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I think regardless it's still a 4cyl, but I am pleased with my motor. I got a rebuilt longblock from sunwest. 260 cam with OS valves, ported, polished, and balanced. 2.25" exhaust with Doug Thorley header, and Supra AFM, 22RE. Injectors have been cleaned. Plus an e-fan, flowmaster DBX muffler. I can break rear end free on asphalt with 33X12.5X15 AT. I am regeared to 4:88. I didn't want to undertake a motor swap.

I get 18-19 mpg in traffic. Can pull hills w/o problems.

Depending on the model of your engine old short block you can do a 20R hybrid. The 20R head has better air flow. Not really an option for the 22RE due to knock sensor.
