help me make a list of tools to buy!
#23
thanks for all the suggestions. Very good ones. I have a list going and I will update and post my list. There are probably about 60 tools on it so far, I just need the time to finish putting everyone's suggestions in it. Thanks!

ratcheting wrenches (the greatest invention ever)
a grinder also comes in really handy
and I know this is not a tool, but a stack of old cardboard makes cleaning up the garage infinitely easier.

wow i forgot about the racheting wrenches, kinda can be kinda pricy
make sure you get the ones that dont have the same design as a normal box end wrench because sometimes you wont be able to get it in the area. Also make sure it has reversing feature on it to.

I use an old analog ohm meter to see if there are drop-outs on the Throttle Position sensor. Also Most prybars I have used flex too much. I found a large 3 foot crowbar that works great, no flex no slip. It has a hexagonal shaft which makes it not flex. A bearing packer can be usefull, the kind you step on. I found the multimeters that have RPM not too usefull. I splurged and bought a $70 timing light with a tach on it. Oh yeah a speed wrench is very useful. You can get a 3/8 and 1/2. You use them like a cranking motion on oil pan and tranny pan bolts. Oh yeah an impact driver, the kind you hit with a hammer, to tighten or especially loosen screws esp. on motorcycles. If you get a vacuum gauge there are some good how to use manuals online like.

The ratcheting wrenches I bought from Sears look really cool but they tend to slip on small nuts/bolts. The dopey looking ones they sell where the box end extends about a millimeter out each side may be better for slipping.
