Thats a good find, someone that just bought it and drove it and didn`t hack it up. So once you get this problem worked out you will have a good running4Runner. How many miles are on it ?. Another thing im wondering about is that you are calling it a graingeville adition, ive never heard of that before, do you have any info on that ?.

The odo reads 158 but my speedo cable is shot. My buddy who has an 85 also with 220k on it says it runs and rides way stronger smoother than his. I'm guessing 170k. The old guy said he used it as a hunting truck but he must have just drove it to the lodge then hopped on a 4wheeler cause the body is perfect. It was customized by a company in ilkhart il. Its got granville badges and door handles. Red velvet int and a dif rear seat that doesn't fold down flush and its actually quite comfy. And its got a sweet 2tone fade paint job. It used to have running boards from the same company too. Those were the first things to go

That would have been my next sugestion as well. Some peeps are on the ball on this site. The cold start injectors are acctaully bad for leaking as well as the Thermal time switch (cold start time switch)malfuctioning. Its a switch located i believe next to the coolant temp sensor should be the one on the right. Its 2 connectors located under the throttle body. I've had to replace the cold-start injector before cause it was leaking on mine causing a similar issue. You can play parts replacer and replace them both i don't think either one is highly expensive.

When you first unplugged the cold start injector did it run good for a while ?. Try removing the cold start injector and cleaning it, if its like mine was it has a lot of carbon build up on it, also remove the throttle body and give it a good cleaning, and make sure all of the vacuum ports on the throttle body are clear and open. Make sure to buy a new throttle body gasket to replace the old one. When you clean the throttle body use carb cleaner, but don`t let it get into the TPS it might damage it. See what happens after that.

I don`t know if you got the email i sent you this morning, but i got the pictures of your 4Runner, it looks real clean, the old guy you got it from took good care of it.

Question. What would cleaning the injector do. If I had it unhooked it shouldn't be functional right?
