gearing opinions

Let me say that yes, I have searched this site for the past few nights on gearing and found great info, would just like some opinions!

Picked up an 85 4runner, 5in suspension lift, running 37" Bogger TSL's.....on stock 4.10 gears. What would any of you recommend throwing in the beast for a dedicated trail rig, no daily driving? I do still have to drive to wheelin spots, but i'm lookin to dial in the gears for the dirt! Thanks guys.

once you get to 35+ tires. 5.29 or 5.71. What were YOU thinking of going with??

btw, how does that thing drive now with 37's and 4.10's?

I have an 86 4Runner with 37x12.50-15 MTR`s with 4.88 gears, and i don`t have any problems with that set up. I also have duel cases, so maybe that helps a little.

5.29's with my dual cases give me a 221:1 low range
Currenly running 35's but hope to be up to 37's soon.

Sweet! How bad are the spools on the roads? I only ask because I still need to drive to and from spots.

Anybody have any insight on Trail Gear's Ring and Pinion sets? I'm not rich and those bad boys are quite cheaper than yukon, but if they are junk I def wont spend that money!

a spool will do fine on the road..BOTH tires will be spinning 100% of the time.

not too good on your tires i might add.
