Who knows a good place to buy a full exhaust...headers, cat, piping...EVERYTHING?

TIA,

I would buy a good header, cat and muffler and have a local shop bend you a nice hi clearance 2.25" exhaust. The issue with one size fits all is they arent the best on ground clearance, and with a 22R or 22RE you wont notice 2.25" madrel bent vs 2.25" compression bent.

I run a LCE header, IMO best made, carsound(magnaflow) 2.25" universal cat and a flowmaster 2.25" 60 series, sounds GREAT, not too loud and it really boosted power.

I have never added a header, but like john said, buy the parts off the internet take it to midas and have them bend and place everything. Dont do mienike i told them i wanted high clearance and its still in stock place for a catback alone it was 180... but it did add power and has a nice tone.

Go to an exhaust shop and have your work done. Not a place like Midas or Mienike.

I'm running an unknown header (I really don't know who makes it) and a 2.25" Flowmaster Hushpower 2.

i was going to buy a header but that was like an extra $200 or so, and my motor is stock. why bother with headers other then saying you have one? oh they maybe ad 5hp at best (don't believe the hype you read in sales brochures). i don't know, i'm not an expert but even with a full exhaust you may only honestly notice a small gain. you would need to do motor mods too (and maybe you're planning that too which would make sense) intake, port/polish, high comp, cam, etc...........and some tuning with the fuel injection maybe new injectors, remaping or what have you. either way, its a slippery and expansive slope. nothing will run right or be reliable anymore untill you do everything in the system then you've still prolly got decreased realibility and worse milage. keep it stock. you can't outsmart toyota engineers. in the end it will come out like $100 per one horse power gain. worth it? i gutted my cat, put on a $40 cherry bomb, sounds great and still passed emissions. the whole job at a muffler shop cost me $170 and that includes new pipe.

That's a fairly true thought, except I have an exhaust leak. By replacing everything from the header back I will remove any chance of still having a leak.

its all fun and games if you're into it as a hobby, have space, time and money and other cars to drive. i built a motor once (in a car) then realized i needed a beefier clutch/tranny and then bigger brakes. funny how that works huh?

The header is the single best bolt on improvement you can do on the 22RE, and should be at the top of the list, even on an otherwise stock motor.

I won't argue about legalities but it does give you a gain. I've seen dyno proven results.
Though on a 4cyl your only getting 1-3 horsepower.

you can open up the intake for free, i took out the hose that guides the air into the box, and it is sooooo much better, your not looking for numbers, you are looking for response, and torque, which would yield better gas mileage if driven appropriately

I had to gut mine on my 95 and the overall performance was the same, noise was up, and exhaust stink was way up... I was young and stupid, on my current rig it has a hi-flow cat that and I think it preforms much much better.

Header and take your truck to an exhaust shop for 2.25" piping and a good muffler tucked up high so the rocks won't snag it. I ran my tailpipe out of the side directly in front of the driver's side shackle to keep it from getting smashed up.

Breaking the law I think.

My 82 won't have a cat for 2 simple reasons. 1 it doesn't require an emissions test and 2 it never came with one from the factory.
